5 Reasons Why Your Cove Dishwasher Door Won’t Open

So you’ve just finished a scrumptious meal, put all the dishes in the Cove dishwasher, pressed the button, and…wait, why won’t the door open? Don’t freak out just yet, there are several reasons why your Cove dishwasher door may not be opening. We’ll take you through the top 5 reasons and what you can do about them.

Cove Dishwasher Door Won’t Open? Try This!

Before you panic and start frantically pulling on the dishwasher door, there are a few things you can check to try and troubleshoot the problem when your Cove dishwasher door won’t open.

Child Lock

The first thing to check is whether the child lock feature is preventing you from opening the dishwasher door. It’s possible that the child lock has been accidentally activated, as this is pretty easy to do.

To check, look for a small icon on the display panel that looks like a padlock. If you see it, hold down the button for a few seconds until the icon disappears. The door should now be able to open.

Sabbath Mode

Another reason why your Cove dishwasher door won’t open could be that it’s in Sabbath mode. This mode is designed to comply with certain religious observances, and it temporarily restricts certain functions of the dishwasher.

To turn off Sabbath mode, press and hold the delay start button for 5 seconds until it beeps. Then try opening the dishwasher door again.

Door Latch Needs to be Reset

If the above steps don’t work, it’s possible that the door latch needs to be reset. To do this, turn off the power to the dishwasher and take off the front panel. Locate the latch and manually move it to the open position. Once you’ve done this, put the front panel back on and turn the power back on. The door should now be able to open.

Broken Door Spring

If the door spring is broken or damaged, it can cause the door to become misaligned or stuck, making it difficult or impossible to open. To check if this is the case, inspect the door springs for any signs of damage or wear. If the springs are damaged, you will need to replace them to fix the issue.

Problem with Power Supply

It’s possible that your Cove dishwasher door won’t open due to a power supply issue. Unfortunately, dishwasher power problems can be very dangerous to troubleshoot, which is why we strongly recommend professional service in these instances.
